WHO ARE WE?
Alexander's Trading Company is a mail order company specializing in postage stamps, covers and philatelic material of the world. See "About Us" for more personal background information.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
For World Wide Postage Stamp Collectors.....We offer an assortment of covers, unusual and scarcer postage stamps, oddities, EFO's and whatever else tickles our fancy.

For Indonesia Collectors.....FREE downloadable illustrated Catalogs of stamps of the Local Revolutionary issues of Java, Sumatra and the South Molluccas (click at the top left).

Our GALLERY (see below) includes stamps, covers, proofs and more from the Japanese Occupation and Revolutionary period of Indonesia, including Java and Sumatra, the Vienna issues and the South Molluccas issues.

We do NOT accept or reply to want lists. If it isn't on our site or in our Newsletter, we do not offer it for sale. We do NOT send out approvals.

For general World Wide Collectors, we publish a 22 page newsletter every 1-2 weeks which includes listings from our 170 plus page worldwide stock of stamps and souvenir sheets as well as special offers of new items, collections and country lots.

OUR GALLERY FEATURES:

We have a “Print Out” feature on our web site. When you go to the Gallery, the list of Categories comes up. When you click on a Category, the Directory page include the option to create a PDF Download of all the listings in the category. On your computer screen, the illustrations will be in full color. Depending on your printer, you can print in black and white or color. If you do not have a useable printer, you can request a black and white print out from us.

WORLD WIDE POSTAGE STAMPS AND COVERS

Two Categories offer a wide ranging assortment of postage stamps, covers, revenues, specimens, proofs, cinderellas and whatever else tickles our fancy. Enter your favorite country or type of material (Covers, Specimen, Occupation,etc.) into our search engine and have the material you like pop up before your eyes. We try to list material not frequently offered anywhere else. Sometimes, we're not even sure what the stuff is.

Enjoy! That's what stamp collecting is all about.

JAPANESE OCCUPATION OF INDONESIA

The Dai Nippon Society has published a Catalog of the Japanese Occupation stamp issues IN ENGLISH, which we offer at $50.00.

Our stock of these stamps include a number of stamps signed "MDR", Col. M.D. Rowell, one of the best known experts in this area. He authenticated the overprints, but not the catalog numbers, some of which were created after his death.

We try to indicated the correct Dai Nippon number and the JSCA number (in parenthesis) when we have it. The best way to evaluate each stamp is to examine the photograph of each stamp.

Our listings generally follow the Dai Nippon order, but we've taken some liberties where the stamps seemed to us to belong together.

INDONESIAN JAVA AND SUMATRA ISSUES

We offer stamps and covers from this period in our Gallery. For your convenience, we suggest you download the illustrated FREE Catalog offered at the top left of this page to use as a guide for Provisional issues not listed in Scott's. Our numbers for the basic issues follow the Scott Catalog. Local Provisional listings generally follow the Prangko Indonesian Specialized catalog and/or the Dai Nippon Society Catalog, so you can use them also.

REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA ISSUES

These listings include the first issues of the Republic of Indonesia,known as the "Vienna" issues, as well as early Imperfs and special Indonesian items. Our extensive stocks include many color errors, proofs, and lots of covers.

We also feature the very elusive sunken die proofs from the Vienna printers, each signed and dated in pencil by J. Schromm and offer some elusive booklets.

Our listings follow Scott numbers with specialized material (proofs, booklets, overprints)listed following the original basic stamps.

SOUTH MOLUCCAS ISSUES

In addition to the FREE downloadable catalog (top left side of this page), we offer a wide range of these issues. Starting with an RMS actually used in the correct place at trhe right time, the regular issues and ending up with the Permesta's, both authentic and later reprints.

WE BUY STAMPS AND COLLECTIONS

We are always interested in acquiring new material. We do not cherry pick or sharp shoot...we prefer to buy the whole thing. We do appraisals and offer advice on estates. Let us know how we can be of service.

TERMS AND DISCOUNTS

10% DISCOUNT on orders over $50.00 for individual stamps and sets. NO DISCOUNT on collections and year sets which are marked "NET" prices. This discount will be applied to orders after they are received and does not show up on the site driven invoices.

Payment in US Funds only by check or money order. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover.

Postage and Handling $3.00 per stamp order to the USA and CANADA; $8.00 Overseas. P&H for heavy lots is $8.00 in the USA. We do not ship heavy lots overseas. Registration $8.00 additional. We do not accept PayPal.
